What is 'Glass Skin'?! Learn how you can nail it and be on your way to the most hydrated and smooth complexion EVER!
So, what exactly is 'Glass skin'? In simple terms, this is a Korean Skin Care regime that allows for a highly glowing, toned, luminous and transparent complexion. Sounds great right?! This trend has been literally blowing up my Instagram feed for weeks now and so I decided I would try this out for myself and see what all the fuss was about...
Step 1; Remove all Makeup - For this I used my trusty Neutrogena Hydro Boost Cleanser Facial Wipes. Seeing as giving your skin that Hydrated look is key to this I thought they would work pretty well!
Step 2; The Double Cleanse - Being a lover of both Liz Earl and St Ives products I used both - first of all I exfoliated using the St Ives Blemish Fighting Apricot Face Scrub using circular motions all over the face and neck ensuring all makeup and residue was fully removed. Next I went on to the Liz Earl Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser. I absolutely LOVE this cleanser, not only is the smell amazing but what it has done to my skin has been incredible - to anyone who suffers from combination / acne prone skin I highly recommend this!
Step 3; Tone - In keeping with my Liz Earl addiction, I used the Liz Earl Instant Boost Skin Tonic for that extra clean feeling! Many people forget to put toning into their regime but it really is important to not only clear up any excess product on your face, but also to help clarify your complexion and treat your skin to help maintain its hydration.
Step 4; Moisturise; - For this I use my favorite moisturiser of the moment Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream SPF30 - Im just going to take a moment to tell you all how good this moisturiser is, really, it is! With its Anti-Ageing elements and sun protection all rolled into one, this is my go-to day cream. It glides on effortlessly so you don't need to use a lot, and it doesn't leave your skin feeling sticky or heavy with product, which I expect is the reason why Vogue is hailing it as one of the best moisturisers to use this season!
Step 5; Water - and lots of it! - Shock-horror everyone needs to be drinking water at every opportunity throughout the day. Now, I am as guilty as anyone at forgetting to drink a load of water throughout my day, especially running around after two kids and trying my best not to lose my shit at least 5 or 6 times a day, but let me tell you, once you start you really will see the benefits. I bought a gallon water bottle from amazon to remind me, and it helps - this is the one I bought - MyProtein 1 Gallon Hydrator.
I must say that I usually cleanse and moisturise every morning and night but adding in the extra elements to this religiously over the last 2 weeks I have really noticed my skin clearing up and giving off a dewy glow which has allowed me not to wear foundation in the day and still feel confident.
